breaking away

breaking away from an industry quagmire

Client: Mid-tier Software Provider

Challenge:  As an enterprise resource planning (ERP) supplier in a rapidly consolidating industry dominated by two behemoth companies, how do you survive and grow?

Methodology:

  • Aveus designed and facilitated a sometimes painful internal and external assessment including both internal and external resources.
  • Aveus led the leadership team through a long-range planning effort to create a focused strategy based on customer experience requirements.
  • Calculating the requirements for survival and, ultimately, growth, Aveus created straw models to create clarity and catalyze decision making.
  • Once the global business and operating strategies were defined, Aveus designed and facilitated a rapid-start, cross-functional leadership group to drive the detailed planning and implementation decisions in 90 days.
  • Aveus led a combined internal/external marketing team through a new brand strategy aligned to the new company strategic direction.

Benefits Realized:

  • The firm defined a "Break Away" strategy that defined for all stakeholders a new mid-tier company with long-term potential.
  • A new brand framework was defined and implemented.
  • The work set the foundation for a merger that doubled the size of the company and expanded it from a North American company to a global company.
